Srinagar, Aug 18 (KB): Congressional leader Ghulam Ahmad Mir has once again said his party is committed to securing “state status” for Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking at a function Mir as per the news aggregator—Kashmir Bulletin (KB), said it was a gigantic movement for which an enormous organizational effort was needed.
He said Congress was committed to this cause, and national resolutions have been passed to fight for statehood. With elections nearing, he asked the people to critically examine what various political parties promise.
“There may be several regional and national parties that promise the same things, but it is very imperative for the electorate to see which party they trust to deliver on those promises,” he said, adding restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir will remain Congress priority once it gets adequate support.—(KB)
