Srinagar, Aug 21 (KB): The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced the appointment of Rahul Sharma, an IAS officer as the new Additional Chief Electoral Officer for the region.
According to an order issued, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir Bulletin (KB), reads Rahul Sharma, IAS who is currently serving as a Member of the Special Tribunal, J&K, will assume his new role immediately.
“In pursuance of the approval conveyed by the Election Commission of Mr. Rahul Sharma, IAS (AGMUT:2013), Member, Special Tribunal, J&K is hereby appointed as Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu and Kashmir with immediate effect. By Order of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir,” reads the order further.—(KB)
