Srinagar, Sep 14 (KB): Death of young Arihal Pulwama woman Saboora Arshid brings shockwaves to the region and local authorities have acted promptly.
According to news agency—Kashmir Bulletin (KB), Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom (IAS) has directed an inquiry into the circumstances that led to the death of a young woman from Arihal Pulwama who died during treatment at Mohammdiya Nursing Home in Gangoo area of the district.
Saboora, daughter of Arshid Ahmad, was being treated in the private nursing home located in the heart of Pulwama. Sources claim that her condition suddenly worsened while she was undergoing treatment and she met the fatal end.
To seal the operation theatre as a whole so that no documentation from Saboora’s treatment at the operation theatre is compromised and sealed improperly, it has been decided by the district administration. In the strongest words, orders have been issued to the Tehsildar or Executive Magistrate of Pulwama by Dr. Basharat Qayoom.
The Tehsildar, under this order, is performing his task along with the Chief Medical Officer of Pulwama and the Station House Officer (SHO) while ensuring proper execution of the sealing.
This is a very crucial call taken by the state to safeguard the various evidence that the process of investigation currently requires.
The district authority has been more careful on the issue to ensure it is transparent and videographed the whole procedure. In the authorities’ opinion, this step will help the public gain confidence in knowing that the procedure is both fair and complete.
The loss is not just deep but personal; it is also plated with many unanswered questions by Saboora Arshid’s family.
A relative of Saboora has demanded a speedy and detailed investigation into the incident in his daughter’s death, terming the medical staff failure in the nursing home.
Speaking briefly to reporters, he demanded justice for our daughter and urged authorities to bring anyone responsible for negligence to account.
Our daughter came to the hospital in search of cure and she came back dead,” he said, with a shrill of sorrow. “We deserve to know what happened, and we expect nothing less than a full investigation.”.— (KB)
