Shopian May 12: As a part of Public outreach programme, Thana Diwas; an initiative of Government of J&K, was organized by the Shopian Police today at all the Police Stations of the District
Police spokesperson as per a statment issudd here to Kashmir Bulletin — KB said that, At PS Shopian, the event was chaired by SSP Shopian Ms Tanushree-IPS along with ASP Shopian and SHO PS shopian_ At PS Imamsahib the programme too was chaired by SSP Shopian Ms Tanushree, IPS alongwith ASP Shopian,DYSP Imamsahib and SHO PS Imamsahib, At PS Zainapora the event was chaired by SDPO Zainapora and SHO PS Zainapora.
At PS Keller the event was chaired by the DYSP OPS Shopian and SHO Keller, At PS Hurpora,the event was chaired by the DYSP, Hqrs Shopian and SHO PS hurpora.
The programmes were attended by the market committee members, transporters, numbardars, Chowkidars and the respectables of the area.On the occasion, participants highlighted various issues of the public importance.
They were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to the Police will be resolved on priority. While speaking on the occasion, it was reiterated that policing at grassroot level in the district would be revamped to enhance proficiencies of the cops and to develop confidence among the people.
Chairing officers while speaking on the occasion, said that Thana Diwas is an initiative started by the Government of J&K to bridge the gap between Police and Public and also to hear/redress the grievances of common masses.
They further added that community policing is mandatory to boost public confidence which would help in fighting against crime and social evils.The participants were stressed to co-operate with the Police in maintaining law and order in the area, reads ghe statement. (Kashmir Bulletin — KB)
