The awareness drive was carried out throughout the day in whole village and as many as one thousand poor and downtrodden families were provided with these medicines and other essential items.
On the occasion people of the area thanked Tafazul Wani for striving for them and hailed his efforts.
Tafazul Wani said that the drive was carried out following directives from Union Minister Prakash Javdekar.
He pledged that he will ensure continuation of such type of programmes in future as they had always prioritised welfare of public at large.
He also thanked Army and Police in general and SSP Bandipora, Zahid Malik in particular for their efforts and said that SSP Bandipora has always worked for welfare of the society.
Meanwhile, he lashed out at some unnamed politicians and said that they had always been a roadblock in the development scenario of district Bandipora.
