Kupwara, Jan 30 (KNO): The body of a mentally challenged person from Izgund Khumriyal was found in the forest area of Cherkoot in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, an official said on Saturday.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the mentally challenged person who was missing since January 19 was found dead in a suspicious state in the forest of Cherkoot.
The official said that the body has been brought to the Sub District Hospital (SDH), Sogam for medical-legal formalities.
He identified the deceased as Javaid Ahamd Mir, son of Dilawar Mir of Izgund Khumriyal.
“Proceeding under section 174 CrPc has been initiated and the probe is underway,” a police official said—(KNO)
