Virtual event was chaired by Dr. Tassaduq Hussain Mir, Director of Education Kashmir and graced by Chief Education Officers of five districts
Srinagar, May 22 (KB) In a virtual Education Conference, 319 teachers of Kashmir Division received recognition and felicitation for completing the Innovative Pathshaala Alternative Academic Calendar (IPAAC), the teacher training programme conducted by Sri Aurobindo Society.
The event was organised by Directorate of School Education of Kashmir Division & Sri Aurobindo Society, and was chaired by Dr. Tassaduq Hussain Mir, Director of Education Kashmir. The event was graced by five districts Chief Education Officers and teachers in large numbers participated through the social media platform of Sri Aurobindo Society.
Addressing the teachers Dr. Tassaduq Hussain Mir, Director of Education Kashmir As per a statement issued to Kashmir Bulletin –(KB) said, “The 319 teachers who are being felicitated have worked with dedication for the improvement of the education. Due to continuous efforts of the Society the teachers have been trained and we hope they continue to take this initiative forward.”
Expressing his views on establishing Role Model Schools at district level, Director of Education Kashmir said, “The initiative of establishing Role Model Schools at districts will definitely inspire many other schools to improve and we are keen to develop government schools in Srinagar as par with private schools. The Department will support the Society in establishing these schools.”
During the event Sri Aurobindo Society extended gratitude to Mr. G.M. Lone, Chief Education Officer, Baramulla and 106 teachers from Baramulla received felicitation. From Kupwara, 79 teachers got the recognition and Mr. Abdul Hamid Fani, Chief Education Officer was given special thanks.
Moving to Srinagar district, gratitude was expressed to Mr. Manzoor Ahmed Kumar, Chief Education Officer, Srinagar and 50 teachers received recognition. From Bandipora 30 teachers received the honour and special thanks was mentioned for Mr. Javid Iqbal Wani, Chief Education Officer, Bandipora. After extending thankyou to Mr. Fayaz Ahmed Mir, District Education Planning Officer, Pulwama, 54 teachers received the felicitation .
On behalf of Sri Aurobindo Society, Mr. Ashok Sharma- National Head, Training, Rupantar, Sri Aurobindo presented the inaugural as well as the vote of thanks.
Sri Aurobindo Society conducted the IPAAC training sessions in the year 2020-2021, focusing on increasing the teachers’ capacities for conducting effective online and off –line classes through experiential and joyful teaching methods.
The training aims to improve the minimum learning outcomes of the students. The teachers participated on a voluntary basis and covered all the modules successfully. In the present academic year, Sri Aurobindo Society is striving to engage more number of teachers in IPAAC programme and establish ‘Role Model Schools’ at the district level. These Role Model Schools will become the centre of excellence with tangible results. (Kashmir Bulletin)
