DSEK mulling to rationalize teaching staff at primary level
Srinagar, Dec 14: School Education Department Tuesday said it was mulling to streamline the Pupil Teacher Ratio (PTR) at primary level.
Besides, the department also said that it will provide the mentors to the students studying in the school from Class I-V.
The Personal Officer (PO) at Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) in an official communiqué said, “The department of school education intends to rationalize the teaching staff at primary level in accordance with Pupil Teacher Ratio (PTR) as well as to provide mentors in the school from Class I-V.”
The PO impressed upon all the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) to provide the detailed information of the primary schools as per the format issued by the School Education Department.
“It is further, intimated that the enrollment and staff engaged for primary section in all the Higher Secondary Schools, High Schools and Middle Schools may be included in the format,” reads the communiqué.
The PO has further said that the school wise format may be completed and signed by the Head of Institutions (HoIs), head teacher for further submission to their respective Zonal Education Offices (ZEOs).
“ZEOs should compile the information at zonal level and subsequently submitted to their respective CEOs in form hard and soft copies and all the primary schools, NPS may also be included in above format,” it reads.
The officer has asked the CEOs to compile all the zonal level information and submit to Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) in the form of hard and soft copies duly countersigned by them within weeks’ time positively. (RK — Rising Kashmir)
