Srinagar, Aug 31 (KB): Reacting to Mehbooba Mufti’s statement made recently about the Halal-Haram issue, National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday demanded that instead of blame gaming, attention should be paid towards saving the country.
While talking to reporters here in Srinagar’s Makdoom Sahab Shrine, Farooq Abdullah as per the news agency—Kashmir Bulletin (KB), said that blame games will not solve any problem; there is a need to create harmonious relations between Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians.
He talked about the vivid diversity of India, from Tamil Nadu to Kashmir, and how that pluralism needs protection. Abdullah said Kashmir has a long tradition of protecting all religions, adding that such a spirit should be a guiding force in the country.
He spoke about the rejection of Sarjan Barkati’s nomination papers, saying that he is not into the issue and that the sufferers should sort this out with the Election Commission. Abdullah hoped that these days would give way to good times.—(KB)
