Ganderbal Police seized illicit timber in Benhama Ganderbal Smugglers Arrested

Ganderbal : Acting on a tip-off about illegal timber being smuggled, Police party of Police Station Lar led by SHO PS Lar SI Ghulam Mohiuddin under the close supervision of DySP Headquarters Ganderbal laid a naka at Benhama crossing and intercepted a vehicle carrying illicit timber in the shape of two deodar logs .
The timber-laden Tata Mobile bearing registration No. JK01T-4087 vehicle was seized on spot  and 02 timber smugglers identified as 1. Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan S/O Mohammad Sulaiman khan R/O Nunnar 2. Mushtaq Ahmad Wani S/O Abdul Rahim Wani R/O Badergund Ganderbal were arrested. 
In this connection FIR No. 22/2021 under section 379/ IPC, 26 I F Act has been registered at Police Station Lar and investigation was taken up.
People of the area hailed such action and reaffirmed their faith on Police.The drive against timber smugglers will continue to ensure protection of Green Gold.
Our consistent actions against anti-social elements should reassure the community members that we are making every effort to keep our society free of crime. 
Police has resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities.
