Srinagar, Dec 14, KDC: Former National Conference MLA Ishfaq Jabbar didn’t attend the party convention in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal neither did his wife Nighat who is the DDC chairperson of the district, reported news agency Kashmir Dot Com.
The Workers Convention in district Ganderbal was presided over by Vice President Omar Abdullah.
Other leaders who were present were Party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Senior Leaders Main Altaf Ahmad, Ali Muhammad Dar, Tanvir Sadiq , Salman Ali Sagar, Ehsan Pardesi, Sarah Hayat Shah and other leaders.
If sources are to be believed Ishfaq Jabbar has been unhappy with the party and has raised his voice against it for the last few months.
His first indication of unhappiness was vividly clear when he released a video message asking the party leadership for introspection.
The message was released immediately after Davinder Singh Rana joined BJP in New Delhi.
Sources close to Ishfaq told Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com that he is not happy with the party leadership as he has got hints that NC vice president Omar Abdullah may contest elections from Ganderbal assembly segment.
“That is why he wants to leave the party and is weighing his options between the Peoples Conference and Apni Party,” sources added.
Ishfaq was also not elected District president of Ganderbal during the party elections which also indicated a red signal from the Abdullah family leadership to him. (KDC)
