Jazbaat 24 news portal, founder arrested
Chandigarh: The founder of Jazbaat 24, a news portal and publishing company, has been arrested again by Punjab police for alleged financial fraud. Nilanjan Das Gupta, the Chief Managing Director of Jazbaat 24, was apprehended under relevant sections of the law, and an investigation is currently ongoing.
According to reports, Gupta is accused of looting approximately 12.5 crore rupees from one individual, 8.5 crore rupees from another, 96.8 lakh rupees from another, 1.75 crore rupees from another, and 11 lakh rupees from one more. It was also reported that 8 lakh rupees have already been paid back from the aforementioned amount.
One of the individuals reportedly affected by Gupta’s alleged financial misconduct was Somu Ji, one of the higly respected minister of Pondicherry. Gupta was operating Jazbaat 24 without proper registration in Kashmir, and the company’s newspapers are still available on the Jazzbaat 24 website.
This is not the first time Gupta has been arrested in connection with his alleged financial misconduct.
The arrest of Gupta has once again brought to light the issue of financial fraud in the media industry. As the investigation continues, it remains to be seen what action will be taken against Gupta and what impact this will have on the future of Jazbaat 24.
