Srinagar, 01 Mar (KB): Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat, Vice Chairperson of the Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB), chaired a meeting to review the performance of different schemes being implemented by the board in the UT of J&K.
In a statement issued to the Kashmir Bulletin– (KB), the spokesperson said the meeting was attended by senior officers from the Board. It was informed that during the current financial year, Margin Money to the tune of Rs 12960.18 Lacs has been released for the establishment of 5925 units (including 2363 for women entrepreneurs) under various employment generation programs, viz. JKREGP/PMEGP, thereby envisaging employment for approximately fifty thousand entrepreneurs.
“The Hon’ble Vice Chairperson stressed the need for active involvement of field officers in propagating and disseminating the aims and objectives of the JKREGP and PMEGP schemes among the target group. Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat advised all the officers of the Board to work transparently and provide all types of handholding support to the youth for the success of their ventures. She gave on-spot instructions to all District Officers that cases should not be pending beyond 45 days. She advised the participating officers to act as catalysts in percolating the benefits of government schemes to local masses.”
“The Hon’ble Vice Chairperson also reviewed the status of SFURTI clusters being established in UT of J&K and advised the officers of the Board and stakeholders to work in close tandem and ensure the commissioning of the clusters within timelines so that people can benefit from these clusters.”
Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary/CEO KVIB directed the officers to ensure quality sponsorship, preferably under the priority sector, so that success stories are created in due course of time. (Kashmir Bulletin–KB)
