Srinagar records warmest night in 33 years
Srinagar, 27 July: The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir recorded its warmest night in 33 years as the temperature overnight dropped to a low of 24.6 degrees Celsius, which is 5.9 degrees above the normal.
The overnight minimum temperature marked the warmest night in Srinagar since 21 July 1988 when the minimum temperature had dropped to 25.2 degrees Celsius.
As per Kashmir Weather, an independent weather forecaster, the present hot weather conditions are likely to end from tomorrow as a fresh spell of rain and thundershowers is expected from late tonight. The humidity levels may increase in the coming days. On the contrary, day temperatures are likely to drop by 3 – 10 degrees Celsius.
Against a normal rainfall of 230.7mm between June 01 and July 26, Jammu and Kashmir this year has received a total rainfall of 204.8mm.
Kupwara, Qazigund, Kokernag and Pahalgam recorded minimum temperatures of 22.2°C, 22.6°C, 21.1°C and 19.3°C respectively.
