114 Underprivileged Couples Tie Knots During Mass Marriage Ceremony in Srinagar; ‘Biggest in Kashmir’s History’, say Organisers ‘We The Helping Hands’ NGO
Srinagar, Nov 2 (GNS): A total of 114 underprivileged couples tied up knots during a mass marriage ceremony organised here on Thursday by non-governmental organisation ‘We The Helping Hands’.
The event, as per the organisers ‘We The Helping Hands’, was aimed to support the economically disadvantaged families who otherwise struggle to cover the high expenses normally associated with wedding ceremonies.
The organisers distributed marriage kits among the newly wed brides and grooms, who cutting across different sects and schools of thought benefitted from the event.
The event was made even more graceful by the presence of Molana Abdul Rashid Dawoodi, Moulana Sajad Mazhari, Moulana Abdul Majid Lolabi and Bashir Ahmad Budhoo.
The event was also attended by Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, Nazir Ahmad Gilkar, Sheikh Mohammad Imran and Women’s cell DySP. (GNS)
