Budgam, Dec 22 (KNO): Amidst the onset of Chillai-Kalan, the commuters here are being forced to face tremendous hardship due to the untimely closure of the fuel stations.
The residents in rural areas of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district are grappling with a challenge of early closure of petrol pumps, which not only affects their ability to travel at night but also adds to the difficulties of navigating the winter terrain.
Locals while speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer KNO said the closure of petrol pumps during late evening and night hours is causing significant distress among the locals.
Late-night commuters, already dealing with the challenges of winter, find themselves at a toss when petrol pumps close early.
Syed Farhat, a local resident from Chadoora said that, ‘’It’s a real struggle, especially during winter nights. We rely on our vehicles, and the early closure of petrol pumps is making everything more difficult.”
A similar incident had happened yesterday in Charar Sharif where some people went to get petrol during late evening hours but couldn’t get the petrol from anywhere.
Sameer Ahmad, a resident of Surasyar, told KNO that they were on their way to Chararisharif yesterday evening when, at approximately 9:30 p.m., their car ran out of fuel close to Degree College.
He said they proceeded to the closest petrol pump, but found all of them closed, adding that for these reasons, travelling at night has become quite challenging.
The locals urged the authorities to look into the issue so that the fuel stations remain open till late evening so that the people could heave a sigh of relief—(KNO)
