Srinagar, Sep 17 (KB): Thousands of devotees congregated in Anantnag today for a beauteous Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi procession to mark the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Saw) as organised by Idara Tehqiqat-e-Islami and other local organisations.
“The rally from Anantnag included participants reciting the Quranic verses and Naat. There was solidarity from all parts of the valley, including Srinagar, who joined processions with Islamic flags. The town was beautifully decorated, and Sabeels were set up by the residents,” the people in the knowing things informed the news agency—Kashmir Bulletin (KB).
They said, while concluding his speech in the congregation, Moulana Rameez urged the congregation to fight the drug problem in the valley while praying for oppressed Muslims around the world. He asked the community to focus on the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to deal with issues of crime and morals running rampant.
Similarly, Moulana Gulzar Madani appreciated the district administration and police for such keen preparations that ensured a smooth conduct of the event. The Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi procession is one of the biggest religious events in the region, as it marks the birthday of the Prophet, who preached peace and unity. In the meanwhile, barring Anantnag, Lal Chowk in Srinagar saw a rally taken out.—(KB)
