ACB Traps, Arrests Assistant Engineer For Taking Bribe in Budgam
Srinagar, Dec 21, KDC: Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday trapped and arrested Assistant Engineer of BDO office Surasyar Chadoora in central Kashmir’s Budgam district for taking and accepting bribe.
A top official told news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that one Tanveer Ahmad (AE) was arrested red-handed while accepting bribe. A good amount of money was also recovered from his pocket search, he said.
He said that on receipt of the complaint, an FIR was registered, under section 7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in Police Station ACB central Kashmir and investigation was taken up.
Accordingly a trap team was constituted. The trap team laid a successful trap and caught Tanveer Ahmad while accepting a bribe on the spot. The bribe money was recovered in presence of independent witnesses.
The officer was taken to a police station and further investigation into the matter is going on. (KDC)
