Action Aid Association in Srinagar Takes Bold Steps to Combat Gender-Based Violence

Srinagar, Dec, 05, : Action Aid Association in Srinagar recently launched a crucial campaign aimed at eradicating gender-based violence in the region. Partnering with local authorities and educational institutions, the organization organized impactful road shows at Jahangir Chowk and Bemina Bypass in Srinagar

Action Aid Association expresses deep gratitude to the Assistant Divisional Commissioner, SSP Traffic, Dy SP of Traffic Police, Superintendent of Police, and the Department of Social Work at Kashmir University for their unwavering support, which played a pivotal role in making this event impactful and effective.

The primary focus of these road shows was to raise public awareness about the prevalent issue of sexual harassment faced by women, especially in public spaces and during transportation. Collaborating with the Assistant Divisional Commissioner, SSP Police, Department of Social Work at the University of Kashmir, SSP Traffic, and other law enforcement agencies, Action Aid Association distributed informational material on gender-based violence and emphasized the importance of reporting such incidents.

This initiative aimed to empower individuals with the knowledge to identify and address instances of violence while fostering a sense of collective responsibility towards ensuring the safety and well-being of all community members. The success of this event was a testament to the collaborative efforts and support from various stakeholders.

Through these road shows, Action Aid Association has taken a significant stride towards building a society that actively opposes and works against all forms of gender-based violence, striving towards a safer and more inclusive world for everyone.
