Srinagar, 23 April (KB): Police while tightening the legal noose against the drug peddlers, have booked three drug peddlers under PIT-NDPS Act from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said.
Police as per statement to Kashmir Bulletin–(KB), said that acting tough against menace of drug abuse and drug peddling, Baramulla Police is tightening the legal noose against the drug peddlers in District.
“Baramulla Police has booked three notorious drug peddlers namely; Naseer Ahmad Khan S/O Gul Zaman Khan R/O Gubdar Trikanjan, District Baramulla, Noor Mohd Sheikh @ Noora S/O Gh Nabi Sheikh R/O Main Town Kunzer, District Baramulla & Nisar Ahmad Dar @ Nisar Shoda S/O Gh Rasool Dar R/O Rengi, District Baramulla under the PIT-NDPS Act,” they said.
The spokesperson further said that; “these peddlers were actively involved in drug peddling in Boniyar, Pattan & Kunzer areas and had remained involved in cases under the NDPS Act.”
Moreover, “as per police they have been lodged at District Jail Poonch & District Jail Kishtiwar under Divisional Commissioner Kashmir’s detention Order No. Div.Com-K/224/2022 dated 18/04/2022, Div.Com-K/222/2022 & Div.Com-K/223/2022 dated 18/04/2022 respectively. General public of the area appreciated the strict action by Baramulla Police against the drug peddlers.” (Kashmir Bulletin–KB)
