KULGAM, MAY 06 (KB): The Deputy Commissioner (DC)Kulgam, Dr. Bilal-Mohi-Ud-Din-Bhat today held a meeting with prominent religious leaders, Imams, Khateebs, Auqaf and civil society members, with an aim to seek their cooperation to avoid gatherings and congregational prayers at mosques and shrines during ensuing Shab e Qadr, Juma- ul- vida and Eid- Ul – Fitr.
During the meeting it was decided that there shall be no gatherings and congregational prayers at any religious place and people will pray at home instead of religious places on these auspicious days to contain further spread of coronavirus infection.
On the occasion, religious leaders extended their full co-operation to administration and appealed people to pray for safety and health of people.
Speaking on the occasion, DC said that Religious leaders, Auqaf members, civil society members have a key role in the battle against Covid-19. He urged upon them to proactively sensitize the people to adhere to Covid-19 SOPs.
The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to people to pray at home during these days and to follow covid SOP’s in letter and spirit.
He extended his gratitude to these religious leaders, civil society and awkaaf body members for extending their cooperation at all times and added that collectively we can overcome from the situation and defeat this pandemic.
