Srinagar, 18 Dec: Social media has been abuzz in Kashmir with videos on both Facebook and YouTube posted by some people claming to be YouTubers. In various videos, “alleged YouTubers” are seen sharing photos and videos of various victims on social media for likes and comments. This has had a negative impact on the noble profession of journalism in the region.
A YouTuber’s video recently went viral in which they were seen shouting that the body of a girl, who had reportedly jumped into the River Jehlum near Sopore, had been found. However, it was later discovered that this claim was false and it is believed that it was made solely for the purpose of obtaining likes and comments on the video.

The incident in Sopore has caused concern and outrage among the community. It is crucial for social media users to verify the accuracy of the information they share, as spreading false information can have serious consequences and cause harm to individuals and society.
According to Kashmir Bulletin–(KB), another YouTuber, who has a Facebook page with the name “Kashmiri Blaster,” was seen live in a video for ten to twenty minutes several times a day. This raises the question of who these people are and why they should be watched. Do they have the right to present such serious and sensitive issues to the public?

“Some YouTubers are also using the headline “Deko Kashmiri Girls Ne Kya Kiya,” and the intensity hasn’t stopped yet. Their thumbnails are even more dangerous than their headlines.”
