Ghulam Hassan Mir pays rich tributes to Mirwaiz Molvi Farooq and Abdul Gani Lone
‘Violence snatched such prominent personalities from us’
SRINAGAR, May 21 (KB): Former Cabinet Minister and Apni Party Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir on Friday paid rich tributes to Mirwaiz Molvi Farooq and Abdul Gani Lone for their unstinted efforts in imparting education in Jammu & Kashmir.
In his statement Issued to KB — Kashmir Bulletin, Mir lauded their contributions and said that the militants killed both of these revered leaders for just having a different political view.
“It’s a stark gloomy reality that their difference of opinion was dealt with by brutal violence and their voices were haplessly silenced,” he observed.
Furthermore, Mir said both of the deceased leaders were immensely concerned about eliminating ignorance from the Kashmiri society and strived hard to impart contemporary education among the youth.
“Mirwaiz Molvi Farooq was a renowned Islamic scholar, who would always immerse himself in disseminating the peaceful message of Islam while Abdul Gani Lone sahab busied himself for the upliftment of poor and downtrodden. He would be invariably at the forefront raising issues of the public interest,” he remarked.
Ghulam Hassan Mir also prayed for the eternal peace to these towering personalities and said that their immense contributions along with raising voices against the tide will be remembered for times to come. (KB — Kashmir Bulletin)
