Qaafia Ibrahim while talking with news agency Kashmir News Observer said that since ages, nun chai has been prepared manually which consumes a lot of time.

She said that an instant, hygienic and proper preparation of the pink tea is the need of the hour and so to overcome the traditional method of pink tea preparation, an automatic pink tea (nun chai ) vending machine has been invented that prepares the pink tea instantly with proper hygiene.

“The aim of the invention is to keep the traditional taste of the pink tea intact. Whenever we go out we ask for sugar tea or coffee but we never ask for our own traditional pink tea as it isn’t available at most of the places due to its lengthy procedure,” Qaaifa said.

Qaaifa said most people even don’t know how to prepare pink tea due to which our tradition is becoming dead.

“So we want pink tea available at every restaurant and hotel so as to keep our tradition alive,” she said.

“We are now working to make a prototype of it for which we need sponsors as it will take around Rs 70,000 which we cannot afford as students,” She said.

She further added that a simple vending machine will cost around Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 which will be affordable for everyone.
