Jammu & Kashmir Government Notifies Timelines for Filling Vacancies

Srinagar (KB): The Jammu and Kashmir government has notified timelines for referral of vacancies to recruiting agencies to ensure timely filling up of posts.

As per a circular issued by the General Administration Department, all administrative departments have been directed to adhere to the timelines for identifying vacancies and referring them to the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) and Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB).

The departments will have to identify vacancies two months prior to the January 15 deadline, which is November 15 of the preceding year. The proposals will have to be sent for finance concurrence by December 15.

Thereafter, the vacancies will have to be referred to the recruiting agencies by January 15 every year. The departments will also have to submit an annual status report on filling of vacancies by January 31.

The administrative departments have been asked to designate a nodal officer, not below the rank of Special/Additional Secretary, to ensure timely completion of the recruitment process as per rules.

The move is aimed at addressing delays in referral of vacancies, which has been a major reason behind backlog of unfilled posts in various government departments. Timely filling up of vacancies will help improve public service delivery.–(Kashmir Bulletin)
