JKSSB Upholds Decision on Sub-Inspector Exam Answer Key Challenge
Srinagar, December 29: The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has rejected the representation filed by some candidates regarding the final answer key for the Sub-Inspector (Home Department) exam held in December 2022.
In an order issued yesterday, the JKSSB said that the representation filed by applicants Musaib Ayoub and others on November 6, 2023 was not admissible as per the JKSSB regulations.
The applicants had approached the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) Srinagar Bench challenging the final answer key issued by JKSSB on November 3, 2022. The CAT had directed JKSSB to consider the applicants’ representation strictly in accordance with the rules.
However, JKSSB in its order said that Rule 63 of its regulations, which provides for making corrections in the result, cannot be applied for making changes to the final answer key. It said Rule 57 specifically deals with the process of finalizing the answer key and clearly states that no further objections can be entertained after the revised/final answer key is issued.
“The representation of the applicants upon consideration is disposed of in light of afore mentioned rule position, and the same is found factually incorrect, legally not tenable and devoid of any merit, hence rejected,” the order said.
The selection process for 1,200 posts of Sub-Inspector (Home Department) had commenced on December 7, 2022. The provisional answer key was issued on December 28, 2022 and the window for raising objections was open till January 2, 2023.
After examining the objections, the JKSSB had issued the final answer key on November 3, 2022.
