Srinagar 14, Jan (KB): Meet Waseema Jahan amazing Calligrapher hailing from the Valley Of Springs And Lakes. I. E Anantnag. Pursuing masters from SKUAST K.
Talking to Kashmir Bulletin (KB), Waseema said that growing up in the conflict zone like Kashmir was never easy. You always have to face one or another challenge and to tackle those you need to have a strong backup. I have developed a close kinship with the Lettering and Calligraphy from a very young age. But due to studies I couldn’t find time for calligraphy.
But from the last few years I was into it once again and the lockdown period was a blessing for me and I invested it in my passion. I practice Arabic calligraphy (Kufic, Tuluth), English(Modern, Gothic, Frakrut)
Apart from customized work for the people who admire my work I mostly do Arabic calligraphy because it helps a person remain in touch with Almighty Allah. You need to be in a state of wadhu while writing the aayat of Quran what else would one need from the passion one has.
Kashmir Bulletin wishes you all the success today and always! Have a bright future! May u achieve success at every turn of life and all your dreams come true! Here’s wishing you good luck for a bright and prosperous future―(Kashmir Bulletin)
