Srinagar, Aug 22 (KB): After a long time, activity has once again returned to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) camp with the joining of some bigwigs in the recent past.
Former minister of Rajpora, Pulwama—Syed Bashir Ahmad, and Mohamad Ashraf Malik, a former district and sessions judge, in addition to high-profile bureaucrat Jamaat Ali Shaheen of Kangan, Ganderbal—have joined the party in a simple but impressive function held at the party headquarters in Srinagar.
The function was attended by the PDP president and former chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti, besides hundreds of other political workers who joined with the new leaders.
Mufti welcomed the newcomers and said they will have a crucial role in strengthening the party graph at grass roots level in conformity with the pro-people agenda drawn up by late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for achieving peace and honor in Jammu and Kashmir.
The new entrants said that it was the vision of the party and the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti that gave them confidence that their political aspirations would be taken care of in J&K.
The event was attended by all senior colleagues, including Syed Nayeem Akhter Andrabi, Ch. Abdul Hameed, Waheed Parra, and many leaders at district and state levels.— (KB)
