Police Arrests Two Persons In Theft Case, Stolen Gold Items Worth 12.5 Lacs Recovered In Budgam
Budgam, Dec 09(GNS) Police on Saturday claimed to have solved a theft case by arresting two persons, also recovered gold items worth lacs in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
In a handout to GNS, the police said that in a Significant achievement, today Budgam Police successfully cracked a theft Case within hours and recovered substantial quantity of stolen property.
The police spokesman further said that on 07/8-12-2023, Police Post Mouchua received a written complaint from one Vikas Kumar Pandit S/o Lt Ram Lal Pandit R/o Hindu Mohalla Kralpora Chadoora stating therein that while he was on way home from Chadoora, some unknown persons snatched his gold items collectively valued at Rs 12. 5 lacs and fled away from the spot.
Upon this complaint, Case FIR No 253/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Chadoora and investigation taken up, he said.
Acting Swiftly, Police party lead by DO Mouchua, after strenuous efforts and with the help of technical inputs, apprehended the accused persons at Pahalgam Anantnag and recovered all the stolen gold items from their possession, he said.
The accused were subsequently identified as Aijaz Ahmad Khan son of Ghulam udin Khan and Showkat Ahmad Khan son of Bilal Ahmad Khan both the resident of Bagi-Mehtabh Srinagar. Further investigation into the case is under process, reads the statement.(GNS)
