RRC Recruitment 2023 notification with 3093 railway jobs issued, candidates with matric qualification can apply

The Railway Recruitment Cell, Northern Railway, has invited online applications from the interested candidates for recruitment of 3,093 posts.

The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Northern Railway, has invited online applications from eligible and desirous candidates for engagement of Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961 for imparting training at various Division/Units/Workshops over Northern Railway.

A total of 3,093 posts of different trades like fitter, welder (C&E), turner, mechanist, carpenter, painter (General), mechanic (diesel), mechanic (motor vehicle), electrician, wireman will be filled up.

Candidate who have passed the SSC/Matriculation/10th class examination or its equivalent (under the 10+2 examination system) from recognised Board and must have passed ITI in relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT and recognised by the Government of India can apply.

Important dates:

  • Date and time of opening of online application: December 11, 2023
  • Date and time of closing of online application: January 11, 2024 (2400 hrs)

Essential Qualification:

  • The candidate must have passed the SSC/Matriculation/10th class examination or its equivalent (under the 10+2 examination system) with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks, in aggregate, from recognised Board and must have passed ITI in relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT and recognised by the Government of India.

Age limit:

  • The candidates should have competed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years of age as on January 11, 2024. However, the upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years in case of SC/ST candidates, 3 years in case of OBC candidates. For persons with disability, the upper age limit is relaxed by 10 years.

Application fee:

  • The application fee is Rs 100 which should be paid online as part of online application process. However, the candidates who belong to the SC/ST/PwBD/Women category are exempt from paying the fees.
  • RRC will not accept application fees in the form of cash, cheque, money order, IPO, Demand Draft, Central recruitment fee stamp, etc.

Mode of selection:

The procedure for engagement of candidate will be as under:

  • Screening & security of the application. There will be no written test of viva.
  • Selection of Act Apprentices is to be made on the basis of merit prepared taking the average of the percentage marks obtained by the candidate in both Matriculation/SSC/10th (with minimum 50% aggregate marks) & ITI examination giving equal weight age to both.
  • In case of two candidates having the same marks, the candidates having older age shall be preferred. In case of Date of Birth are also same, then the candidates who passed matriculation exam earlier shall be considered first.
  • A final merit list will be prepared cluster, trade wise and community wise, equal to the number of slots in the descending order of percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in SSC/Matriculation/10th calss & ITI, as stated above in para 5.2 &5.3 of the notification .
  • The applicant should note that in case any discrepancy in the Marks/CGPA entered in the online application and the original marksheet/certificate, is found at the time of document verification, the candidature of the applicant will be rejected summarily
