KU Recruitment 2024: Last Date, Check Eligibility

The Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Kashmir is pleased to announce openings for two Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions and one Field Assistant position in the research project titled “Storage, transport and chemical evolution of infiltrating water in critical zone (CZ), western Himalaya.” This project is generously funded by the Science and Engineering Board (SERB), Government of India.

Position Details:

  • Junior Research Fellow (JRF):
    • Eligibility: 55% marks in M.Sc. Applied Geology/Geology. Candidates with NET/SET/GATE will be given preference.
    • Tenure: Initially one year, extendable up to two years based on performance.
  • Field Assistant:
    • Eligibility: BSc/3 years Diploma in Geology & Technology.
    • Tenure: Co-terminus with the project and subject to the availability of annual funds.

How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit their applications on plain paper, including their bio-data and necessary qualifications with self-attested documents, to Dr. G. Jeelani, the Principal Investigator, by or before February 13, 2024.

Interview Details: The date and timing of the interview will be communicated via telephone and email. Please note that no TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.

Project Focus: This project aims to delve into the storage, transport, and chemical evolution of infiltrating water in the critical zone of the western Himalaya. The critical zone serves as the interface between the Earth’s surface and groundwater, significantly impacting life and human activities. The study is expected to enhance our understanding of the water cycle in the region, particularly in the context of climate change.
