Weather Alert: Fresh Western Disturbance to Bring Cold Snap and Snow to Jammu and Kashmir

Brace yourselves, as a new Western Disturbance, accompanied by chilly temperatures, is set to impact Jammu and Kashmir over the next 2 days starting tomorrow.

During the upcoming Saturday and Sunday, the Kashmir plains are expected to endure maximum temperatures that won’t surpass 2 or 3°C. Throughout this period, temperatures are likely to linger below or around the freezing point.

Over the next 48 hours, anticipate light to moderate snowfall in the Kashmir plains, with the possibility of minimal rainfall.

The cold temperatures will extend to parts of the Jammu region, where snowfall may occur in areas above 1300 meters in elevation. This includes districts such as Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Poonch, Rajouri, and Kathua.

The primary impact of this weather system is forecasted over parts of South Kashmir and the Jammu region, with the potential for heavy snowfall in select areas.
