Srinagar, 25 May (KB): Lubna Riyaz D/O Riyaz Ahmad, a young calligrapher hailing from Hazratbal Srinagar.
She has accomplished her Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Govt Women’s College Nawakadal Srinagar, she had also completed her schooling from New Era Public School Srinagar.

Lubna while talking to Kashmir Bulletin–(KB), said that I have started my calligraphy carrier before one year, and since the lockdown I got more passionate about calligraphy.
She further said that, I have always been passionate about Art and Crafts from the very childhood. My parents have always supported me and it’s just because of them I am living my dreams.
A friend of mine helped me and we started this journey during lockdown 2020 and created Instagram Page “ Dreams By Hand ”, we started from Scratch zero investment and today we around two thousand followers, Alhamdulillah.
I always wanted to know the basics and rules of Arabic Calligraphy so eventually joined “Calligraphy Classes” at Alif Learning Academy located at Karan Nagar Srinagar and from the academy I learned the Script Naskh and Thulut, now I am learning other scripts as well.
Besides Calligraphy, I am also a Self-taught hand-embroiderer. I learnt Hand Embroidery by Myself. I enjoy making handmade products and a variety of crafts.
For me “ Dreams By Hand is our little place where we put all our Love, Efforts and time. This is more than a business to us. This is more like a piece of our heart”, she said.
My message for youth is that, ” When you feel like quitting, think about why you started” always keep me going. Never let the Odds Keep you from doing what you know in your heart you were meant to do. –(Kashmir Bulletin)
