Srinagar, Sep 16 (KB): The security forces on Saturday said they have killed three militants in the Hathlanga area near the LoC in the Uri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district during a gunfight.
Officials, while sharing details as per the Kashmir Bulletin (KB), said a joint operation was launched by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir police based on intelligence input, which foiled an infiltration bid in the morning hours along the LoC in Uri Sector, Baramulla.
They added that, during the operation, three militants tried to infiltrate and were engaged by alert troops.
“As the firing continues, two of the militants have been killed, and their bodies have been recovered, while the third militant killed was also killed, but the retrieval of the body is being interfered with by firing from a Pakistani post in the vicinity on the LoC,” he added.
Similarly, the operation is in progress, and further details are said to be awaited. (Kashmir Bulletin – KB)
