Vehicle buries after a slab collapses in Pulwama

Pulwama, Dec 23, KNT: A slab of an under-construction shopping complex collapsed in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district underneath a parked vehicle got buried and destroyed.

The incident occurred near Super Bazar in Pulwama market.

Eyewitnesses told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the slab of under-constructed structure collapsed suddenly on Saturday late afternoon. A parked vehicle (JK13D-6148) got completely damaged in the incident. Police, SDRF and Municipality personnel rushed to the spot to assess the situation.

An official said that they are trying to find out whether there is only a vehicle underneath the slab or if there are some human beings also. “The work on removing the slab is underway,” he added.

The building is owned by one Parvez Ahmed Dar, a resident of Kangan Pulwama. Dar told KNT that he is shocked by the incident and doesn’t know how to react. “Thankfully, there was no human loss,” he said. [KNT]
