Snow in J&K from 21 onwards
Srinagar, 19 Feb (KB): After continuous dry spell and warm days across Jammu and Kashmir from last 3 weeks, an active Western Disturbance is finally going to affect Jammu and Kashmir from tomorrow onwards.
An independent weather forecaster Faizan Arif while talking to (KB)-Kashmir Bulletin said, as per the present analysis mostly sunny to mostly cloudy weather is expected on 20th Feb along with the thundershowers due to local development of clouds, at one or two places.
On 21 Feb, partly to mostly cloudy weather is expected with thundershowers due to local formation of clouds, at one or two places.
He added that, light rain/thundershower at a few/many places with the possibility of light snowfall possible in higher reaches of north-east belt is forecasted on 22 Feb.
Faizan said that On 23 Feb, light to moderate rain is predicted at many places. Also, light snowfall is possible in some higher reaches. The predictability for the day stays 50% .he said
On 24 Feb, light to moderate rain is likely at many places. Light snowfall is possible in some higher reaches. Predictability around 50%
On 25 Feb, light rain is predicted at few/many places. Light snowfall is possible in some higher reaches. Predictability for the day is 35%.
While talking about any further active Western Disturbance in future, he said, another active Western Disturbance can be expected around 26 February.
Giving advisory, he said, thundershowers may be accompanied by hailstorm/gusty winds at isolated places, on all days, particularly in parts of Jammu region.
This happens due to towering(vertical growth) in clouds and thus, formation of Cumulonimbus Clouds .KB–(Kashmir Bulletin)
