National e-Governance AWARD 2021-22: Srinagar District conferred Gold, District Ramban Silver National Award for excellence in e-Governance

New Delhi, 31 Oct (KB): Srinagar and Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir was selected for National e-Governance Gold Award for Project/Initiative ‘Gaash’ under the category of “Excellence in District Level Initiative in e-Governance” of the National Awards for e-Governance Scheme 2021-2022.
Srinagar District has achieved a major milestone by getting selected for National e-Governance Gold Award for Project/Initiative ‘Gaash’ under the category of “Excellence in District Level Initiative in e-Governance” of the National Awards for e-Governance Scheme 2021-2022.
The Gaash project is an e-Learning initiative of District Administration Srinagar with special emphasis on gamified learning in the age group 12-18. With the introduction of the project a number of students as well as teachers showed enhanced interest in the project resulting in overall improvement in academic performance.
Through the project Gaash, the students were able to understand basic concepts in science and mathematics very easily in comparison to normal class room transactions.
Speaking about the project Gaash, the DC Srinagar said that the project has been very helpful in making Education more effective while being enjoyable through gamification of conceptual content.
He said it will also provide a comprehensive understanding of learning outcomes for all stakeholders in education–schools, parents and students, besides empowering students with cutting-edge edu-technology to help them realise their full potential.
The DC also said that the effort is factored by use of digital technology pursuing next generation reforms and innovations by adopting emerging technologies and use of ICT Management.
Morever, The Department of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, GoI, has conferred Silver Award on District Ramban under the prestigious National Awards for e-Governance for the year 2021-22.
The district won the award for achieving ‘Excellence in District Level Initiative in e-Governance’ under its project e-SuvidhaRamban.
In a communication addressed to the Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam, the Department of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, GoI, has informed that the Silver Award for District Ramban carries a certificate, trophy and a cash award of Rs 3.00 lakh for the Department.
The award would be formally conferred to the district at the 25th National Conference on e-Governance scheduled to be held on Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Campus, Kakryal on November 25-26.
The Deputy Commissioner has thanked the Department of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, for national recognition of one of the newest districts in the country. He also expressed deep gratitude to Ramban’s NIC team for conceiving the interactive application which did wonders in facilitating people and also providing employment opportunities to skilled and educated youth of the district.
Meanwhile, the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha congratulated Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and Ramban and there team for getting selected for the project “Gaash” for National e-Governance GOLD/ Silver AWARD under the category “Excellence in District Level Initiative in e-Governance.
In his Tweet, the Lieutenant Governor has quoted” A well-deserved Gold for Team @srinagaradmin in e-Governance.” The tweet further added,” Congratulations and best wishes for outstanding work @asadamaijaz and officials for translating the grand vision of digitally empowered society into reality.”
