4 Properties, Worth Lacs, Belonging to 3 Pakistan-based Militants Attached in Poonch
Srinagar, Mar 02 (KB): Jammu and Kashmir Police have attached four properties, worth lacs, belonging to militants in Poonch district, a Spokesperson said on Sunday.
“In a significant move to curb militancy and dismantle its support structures, Poonch Police have attached four properties spanning 14.8 Kanal of land, valued at approximately rupees 28 lakhs, in villages Qasba and Kirni of District Poonch,” the Spokesperson said in a statement issued to news agency Kashmir Bulletin.
“These properties belonged to three local militants operating from Pakistan, namely; Najab Din, son of Mohamad resident of Village Kirni, Tehsil Haveli, District Poonch; Mohd. Latif, son of Mohamad, resident of Village Kirni, Tehsil Haveli, District Poonch; and Mohd. Bashir alias Tikka Khan, son of Bahadur Ali, resident of village Qasba, Tehsil Haveli, District Poonch.” lacs
All three individuals, the Spokesperson said, had earlier fled to Pakistan and are actively engaged in promoting militancy, disturbing peace, and threatening social harmony in Poonch and other parts of Jammu and Kashmir. lacs
“The action was taken in compliance with the Hon’ble Court’s order under Sections 82/83 of CrPC, related to FIR No. 202/2022 registered at Police Station Poonch,” said the Spokesperson, adding, “this step underscores the firm commitment of Poonch Police to take strong action against individuals involved in militancy and activities that disrupt social harmony.”
“The attachment proceedings were carried out by a police team led by DySP Headquarters Poonch Neeraj Sharma, SHO Police Station Poonch Inspector Rashid, and Naib Tehsildar Poonch, along with revenue officials. The execution of this action was witnessed by local residents of villages Qasba and Kirni.”
SSP Poonch Shafket Hussain has in the meantime stated that Poonch Police remain steadfast in their resolve to root out militancy and ensure peace and stability in the region. (KB)
