Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday evening trapped and arrested an Assistant executive Engineer (AEE) of Rural Development Department for accepting bribe, KDC reported.
Quoting reliable sources news agency KDC reported one Ghulam Hassan Rather son of Ghulam Mohammad Rather, a resident of Gojura Budgam was arrested red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rupees 15000 at Hyderpora.
They said that on receipt of the complaint, a FIR was registered, under section 7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in Police Station ACB and investigation was taken up.
Accordingly a trap team was constituted. The trap team laid a successful trap and caught Ghulam Hassan Rather AEE R&B Division Uri while accepting a bribe of rupees 15000 and two numbers of cheques on the spot.
The officer was taken to police station Sadar in Srinagar and further investigation into the matter is going on.
