Srinagar, Aug 08 (KB): Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari has expressed hope that the Election Commission of India, who are on a two-day visit to Kashmir valley, would soon announce the much-awaited Assembly elections.
Speaking to reporters, after visiting the Ziyarat Shareef of Sayeed Gh Rasool Shah in Malangam Bandipora, Bukhari assured, “The Apni Party is fully prepared to participate in the forthcoming elections.”.
He further elaborated on the recent concerns over party stability and said, “Changes at the helm or amongst the rank and file was a personal choice. It does not dent the overall strength of the party.” He assured that the district president of Bandipora will continue to lead effectively despite some resignations.
Accompanied by the senior party leader and former MLA Gh Hassan Mir, Bukhari and his team prayed for peace and rainfall during the visit. The unwavering commitment of Apni Party and optimistic outlook for Bukhari simply suggest that he is ready for electoral challenges in times to come.— (KB)
