The blacktopping of the 30km Doda-Bhaderwah road has begun on a war footing and is being supervised by concerned engineers of BRO 114 RCC Bhaderwah, providing a great relief to inhabitants of Doda district and tourists visiting the Bhaderwah valley.
According to residents, the road has been extensively damaged as a result of repeated landslides and snowfall, and BRO has been repairing it as needed to keep it in excellent repair.
According to an official source, the tendering procedure caused the delay in full-flaged construction, and once the contract was granted, the contractor was told to start blacktopping right once.
People have been appreciating higher commands of BRO, particularly OC 114 RCC, for starting work after a long wait now that blacktopping construction on the road is in full gear.
While praising OC 114 RCC Pramodh Kumar, ‘Bhaderwah Eco-Watch ‘ (Trust) youth president Shabir Ahmed Zargar stated that it had been a long standing issue that the people had to deal with, and that it is hoped that the blacktopping of this important road at such a rapid pace will provide a sigh of relief to local residents as well as tourists, both adventure
and religious pilgrims will also boost tourism, in addition to providing convenience to local residents.
Doda-Bhaderwah road is amidst lush green Cedar and Pine trees and is a reflection of the beautiful Bhaderwah valley in Jammu region, BRO has begun blacktopping and restoring the Bhaderwah-Doda road at the right time, as a large crew of Bollywood movie shooting is present in Bhaderwah and more are coming in next month, and this will give a strong message of good governance.
Zargar went on to say that commuters should collaborate with the BRO to ensure that blacktopping work is completed smoothly.
