New Delhi: IT Recruitment 2022: On the one hand, tech companies have put brakes on new recruitment of employees and there is also a flurry of layoffs in suppressed words, while on the other hand some Indian tech companies are trying to make new recruitments. Tech Mahindra, one of the biggest tech companies of India, is working on a plan of more than 20 thousand recruitments in the next 1 year (in 12 months).

Talking to Business Today, CP Gurnani, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Tech Mahindra has given positive indications regarding the recruitment. Gurnani said, “We will connect around 20,000 people with us in the next one year. We are doing 1,64,000 people with us today, we will reach the strength of 1,84,000 people in twelve months from now.”
IT Recruitment 2022: Recruitments done in September quarter also
As per the quarterly results announced yesterday, Tuesday, the IT services consultancy company hired 5,877 people in the September quarter, as against 6,862 in the June quarter. The total number of employees in the company is 1,63,912. It is worth noting here that the job loss rate of the company also declined from 22 percent in the previous quarter to 20 percent in Q2FY23. Year-on-year attrition has also seen a decline.
IT Recruitment 2022: Workforce based strategy
Gurnani said during the earnings call, “At 164,000, we believe that we must manage the workforce well to build the future. We will focus on the future, skill development and global delivery model and that is how we are going to build our (workforce) strategy.”
During the earnings call, the IT services company said that they had added around 10,000 freshers in the last financial year and they are planning to add a similar number in the current financial year as well.
Tech Mahindra’s consolidated net profit fell 4 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1,285 crore in the quarterly results. Consolidated revenue from operations for the quarter stood at Rs 13,129.5 crore, up 3.3 per cent sequentially and 20.6 per cent year-on-year.
