NIA Conducts pan India searchs, arrests key JeM operative in connection with conspiracy case
Srinagar, 5 Oct (KB): National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a key Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) operative in connection with a conspiracy case after massive searches were carried out in five states including UT of J&K.
NIA spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency Kashmir Bulletin reads, In a massive pan India crackdown in a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) conspiracy case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday conducted searches at multiple locations in five states and arrested one person. pan
Ayubi was taken into custody for his alleged role in radicalizing individuals associated with JeM and disseminating terrorist propaganda. The NIA also seized incriminating documents, electronic devices, pamphlets, and magazines during the searches, it reads.
The searched locations included Goalpara in Assam, Aurangabad, Jalna, and Malegaon in Maharashtra, Meerut and Saharanpur in UP, Delhi, and Baramulla, Pulwama, and Ramban in J&K.
Statement added that, NIA investigations have revealed that the suspects were involved in motivating youth to commit violent terror attacks across India. Further investigations are ongoing.
Ayubi will be produced before the NIA Special Court, Patiala House, New Delhi. Several other suspects have been rounded up for questioning in connection with the case, reads the statement. (KB)
