No parking spaces outside medical stores from Kaksarai to Karan Nagar

Traffic congestion, hampered ambulance movement a major concern, say locals

Srinagar, Dec 06 (KNO): The absence of dedicated parking spaces outside medical stores in the Kaksarai to Karan Nagar area of Srinagar has led to a surge in traffic congestion and hampered the movement of ambulances.

Commuters are forced to park their vehicles haphazardly on the roadside, often blocking traffic flow and creating a chaotic situation. This problem is particularly acute during peak hours when the area is flooded with patients and their attendants.

Speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), locals from the area said the lack of parking spaces has also become a major concern for ambulance drivers, who often find themselves unable to navigate through the congested streets to reach patients in need.

“The situation is getting worse by the day, as there is no place to park our cars, and the traffic is always jammed. It is a nightmare to get to a medical store during an emergency,” said Manzoor Ahmed, a local resident.

“The authorities have been urged to take immediate action to address this issue, and a dedicated parking lot should be created in the area to accommodate the rush of vehicles,” said Zahoor Ahmad, a commuter from the area.

Another local commuter, Mubashir Ahmad, added that the health of the people of Srinagar is at stake, as the authorities must act swiftly to resolve this issue.

Locals demanded that the traffic police should be deployed to regulate traffic and ensure that vehicles are parked properly.

When contacted, a senior official of the traffic police in Srinagar City told KNO that he would check on the situation and make all possible efforts to navigate the proper traffic movement in the area—(KNO)
