Srinagar, Dec 01 (KNO): Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir has recorded the coldest night of this season at minus 2.5 degrees Celsius while the weatherman here has predicted three-day wet spell across Jammu and Kashmir from December 04 evening.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the several districts of Kashmir including Srinagar recorded the coldest night of the season.
Officials in the local Meteorological department said that a fresh Western Disturbance (WD) would most likely affect Jammu & Kashmir and adjoining areas from December 04 evening to December 06.
They said that the peak activity would be on December 05. “Widespread light to moderate snowfall would occur in middle and higher reaches of Kashmir/Jammu and light snow/rain would occur over plains of Kashmir/Jammu,” the officials said.
The higher reaches of Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Shopian and Ganderbal districts would likely receive 6-9 inches of snow during the same period.
“There is a possibility of temporary disruption of air and surface traffic over passes like Zojila, Sinthan Top, Razdan Top, Mughal Road due to snow and freezing temperatures on 5th December,” they said—(KNO)
