Chief Engineer says it is dead impossible
Srinagar, Jan 25, KNT: Less than two kilometers away from Srinagar’s Bemina Grid Station, Sidiq Colony Qamarabad is reeling under darkness from past two weeks.
Local inhabitants said that the tall claims made by PDD during recent snowfall could be gauged by its failure to supply electricity to Sidiq Colony Qamarabad located less than two kilometers from Bemina Grid Station.
“Our transformer developed technical snag two weeks ago but since then neither we got a new transformer nor was the damaged one repaired. We are living without electricity from past 2 weeks,” the locals told KNT.
“Despite requesting PDD officials and employees with folded hands, nothing was done to alleviate the sufferings of locals,” they said.
They said the power outage has forced many families to migrate to other areas.
“We want to make a fervent appeal to Chief Engineer PDD to please address our issue as we are suffering immensely,” the locals said.
When contacted, PDD Chief Engineer Ajaz Ahmed said that these people should come to him on Jan 27th and if their issue is a genuine one, he will get it resolved.
“I don’t think that any area in Srinagar city is reeling under darkness from 15 days due to transformer problem,” he added and asked inhabitants of Sidiq Colony to visit to him. (KNT)
