Budgam, 31 July: Police on Sunday said they have arrested two notorious drug peddlers, and have booked them under PSA in Budgam, officials said.
Police as per a assertion to Kashmir Bulletin–(KB), said that while acting tough against drug abuse and to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police booked 02 notorious drug peddlers under PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority.
The detained persons as per Police were identified as; Javaid Ahmed Beigh son of Abdul Rasheed Beigh resident of Nasrullapora Budgam and Mukhtar Ahmed Wani son of Ghulam Mohammad Wani resident of Bathar Budgam.
“The book drug peddlers have been lodged in Kot-Balwal Jail Jammu. Pertinent to mention that the above accused persons were involved in NDPS cases and were promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of district Budgam,” it reads.
Moreover, “General public of Budgam appreciated the role of Police for their action against drug peddlers. Our consistent actions against the drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from drug abuse,” it reads. (Kashmir Bulletin–KB)
