Doda, September 17: As a part of Union Government’s public outreach programme for Jammu and Kashmir, the Union MOS For Petroleum, Natural Gas and Labour & Employment, Rameswar Teli visited Bhaderwah on the 2nd day of his two day tour to the district.
During the visit the Union MOS presided over the function organised under the theme “Azaadi ka Amrut Mahotsav” to commemorate the 75 year of India’s independence at the auditorium of University Campus, wherein the Union MOS felicitated the 75 eminent personalities from various fields including Artists, Corona warriors, Literary persons, Progressive Farmers, Budding Sports persons, meritorious students, and Corona warriors.
The minister paid homage to the Martyrs who laid their precious lives for the nation. District Administration had organised a ceremony for the reverence of 11 families of Martyrs belonging to Doda. The families were escorted from their place of residence to the venue with utmost dignity and respect. One minute silence was also observed in their memory.
A scintillating cultural programs on patriotic theme was also showcased by the school children and J & K Academy of Art Culture& Languages.
Speaking on the occasion, the Union MOS informed that the Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi has asked all the ministries of Government of India to work in tandem for the overall development of the UT of J&K, besides said that J&K has special place in the heart of PM Modi and he is very keen to pace up the developmental tempo of the UT for which Central Govt has a separate blueprint.
With regard to the initiatives which has been taken up by Ministry of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Labour & Employment, the Union MOS said that in the past seven years the ministry has initiated series of programs which are aimed to accelerate the developmental process vis a vis individual benefit oriented schemes.
The Union MOS said that various PSUs under his control which includes BPCL, IOCL, HPCL etc have taken into account series of developmental schemes and individual benefit program which aims at to ensure overall socio economic development of the people of this UT.
Under CSR projects, Upgradation of Schools, installation of LED lights, construction of roads, Solid waste management plants, sanctioning of LPG gas connections to the womens of BPL families under Ujjwala phase I and ii, besides said that the PSUs are also conducting series of training programs for the unemployed youth of the J&K.
Moreover the Union MOS informed that under Ujjwala phase I around 12 lakh LPG connections have been sanctioned in favour of women of BPL families, besides oil companies have been directed to ensure that no one is left under the second phase.
During the speech the Union MOS said that the ministry has also taken series of steps to improve the health facilities in the UT for which the department is going to upgrade the ESIC hospital at Jammu from 50 beds to 100 beds, in addition to this construction of the ESIC hospital at Ompura at an estimated cost of 160 Cr has also been approved and sanctioned which is going to benefit the Budgam and Srinagar district also.
In Labour & Employment department the ministry has started the registration of unorganised workers on e -shram portal and along the registration the beneficiaries are also going to have 2 lakh insurance cover free of cost, besides the ministry has started the Atal Bhimit Kalyan Yojana for the youth who have lost their jobs during Covid.
The Union MOS assured the gathering that the Union Govt under the leadership of PM Modi is dedicated to pace up the developmental scenario of the UT and drastic change will be witness by the people itself in the upcoming days.
The Union MOS also congratulated the participants who have performed on the theme of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav to commemorate the 75 years of India’s independence, besides applauding the District Administration Doda for successfully conducting all the events during his tour, he suggested that felicitation of eminent personalities especially in ‘Azaadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ should be replicated in other districts as well.
He conveyed his gratitude to the MOS Dr Jitendra Singh, for taking keen interest in the development of this region and massive development of the North East Region of India.
Among others DDC Chairperson Doda Dhananter Singh Kotwal, Commissioner Secretary L&E UT of J&K Sarita Chouhan, PS to Hon’ble MOS Virendra Mittal, Deputy Commissioner Doda Vikas Sharma, SP Bhaderwah Abdul Qayoom, ADC Bhaderwah Rakesh Kumar, besides DDC members, BDC Chairpersons and other senior officers of Civil and Police Administration were also present.
