Srinagar, 22 Mar (KB): An Anti-Drug drive was organised by Mars School of Education, in presence of Station House office (SHO), Owais Geelani and other officers. In this regards, a rally was taken out from Ali Masjid to Safakadal area of Srinagar on Tuesday morning.
Talking to Kashmir Bulletin–(KB) on the sidelines of Anti Drug Drive, station house office (SHO), Safakadal, Owais Geelani said that ; as you all are aware that drug addiction is a big issue in our society and we all must fight against it.
“If you see any person who is involved in such issues, don’t treat him like a culprit, treat him like a patient, don’t outcast them from the society, but rather treat them with sympathy” he said.
“Drugs are like pandemic in our society and we all must fight equally with it. I would like to request the authorities, the Mohalla committees, parents, teachers and everyone to organise such events that promote awareness” he said.
Talking about our SSP Srinagar Rakesh Balwal, he is very strict on such issues and has zero tolerance against drug peddling. As you all are aware that we have also booked some of the famous drug peddlers of valley under Public Safety Act (PSA), our work against drug peddling is countinous and Inshaallah we are working tirelessly on it”, he said.
“Once again we would like to request the youth to refrain from doing such activities and we also request the general public to come forward and help us”, he said. (Kashmir Bulletin–KB)
