Batwara residents complain of contaminated drinking water supply, Details Here
Srinagar, Sep 01: The residents of Batwara area of Srinagar on Wednesday accused the Jal Shakti Department of supplying contaminated water to them, demanding authorities to take necessary measures in this regard.
Speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the residents said, they have been receiving contaminated water supply for the past one month, which has caused serious health issues to them.
“We are being forced to consume contaminated water, which is causing severe health issues. We feel helpless. The water supply which we receive is contaminated and emanates foul-smell,” said Mohammad Amin Dar.
“My health condition has deteriorated in last four days, and it is all because of the contaminated water supply, which is being supplied to us,” said a local lady from the area.
Meanwhile, the residents urged the authorities to look into the matter and ensure that their grievances are resolved at the shortest possible time—(KNO)
